To a Dead Friend is a personal exploration of remembrance, inspired by Langston Hughes’s poem. Through a series of photos, I reflect on the presence and absence of loved ones, using both portraits and symbolic imagery. These images both directly show and indirectly represent loved ones I’ve lost by preserving their memory through objects, places, and moments that remind me of them. Each photo acts as a connection to the past, echoing the feelings of loss, nostalgia, and the lasting impact of the people we love. This project is a visual tribute to those who are gone, but never forgotten.
